History of Ferguson Apiaries |
|
| Home | 1972- Bill took over an already established Apiary.Every year he imported queens. As time went on Bill noticed the quality of imported queens wasn't there.1988- was the last year he imported queens. At that point they were being purchased from New Zealand and Australia. These bees had a higher swarming rate, more aggressive and not as hygenic.1990 - Bill brought in Buckfast Stock to the operation. The change was noticeable.
Working along with other Buckfast breeders and the Ontario Beekeepers Association we have been able to maintain a high quality stock .We continue to get test's done on the queens and our breeding hives in order to advance in the breeding industry. This enables us to sell an excellent caliber of stock. |
